Three weeks have already passed and the children are settling well into their new class. We would like to welcome Amelia Shaw and Las Rasul to our Moorfield Family, They have settled in really well and are making lots of new friends.
They are all working hard and enjoying some playtime too!
The children have been learning about poetry this term, poems with rhyme, alliteration and prepositions. They have been adding actions to help them remember the words and the sequence and substituting words to create new poems.
In science they have been learning about their bodies, naming different parts and which parts are associated with the senses.
Children have also been learning what it means to be part of a Family, both at home and also at school through the story of Beegu.
Reading in School
Children will be heard to read once a week by me and also other adults working in the school. We really value reading, as it is key to your child’s learning. Please ensure that they have their book in school every day to help us with this.
Reading at home
Reading with your child at least three times a week will help us to accelerate their learning. We are a team and we want the best for each and every child!
PE is on a Tuesday and Thursday. Children must have their PE Kits in school so they can take part. Please ensure everything is clearly labelled so they do not lose anything. Kits will be sent home at the end of each term to be washed.
As space is limited in the classroom and the pegs are just big enough for the coats to hang on, could I please remind everyone that children need a Moorfield Reading Bag (the smaller the better as they can fit in the trays).
I am really looking forward to the coming year teaching your child and hope they enjoy their year in their new class.
If you have any concerns or worries, please do not hesitate to come and speak to me.
