RE Day – Studying the Hindu Faith

On our RE Wow Day we looked at the customs and traditions of the Hindu Faith.
We learned all about the Hindu gods Vishnu, Brahma, and Shiva and how the world was created.

We also looked at the festival of Raksha Bandhan
Family is really important to Hindus. The annual festival of Raksha Bandan celebrates the love between brothers and sisters. The word ‘Raksha’ means ‘protection’, and ‘Bandan’ means ‘tie’.
Sisters make or buy a rakhi bracelet for their brother, cousin or friend.
We made rakhi bracelets for our friends.

On the 22nd of November we plan to visit the Hindu Temple in Kirby to further our understanding of traditions and culture.
